Petroleum, Environment and Solid Minerals Degradation Awareness Association (PESMDAA) is an organisation established to promote awareness about the environmental impacts of petroleum and solid mineral extraction, educate stakeholders about the importance of environmental conservation, collaborate with government agencies to influence policy reforms that protect the environment while promoting economic growth, and support local communities in advocating for their rights regarding resource management.
Over the years, Nigeria has relied significantly on oil revenues, resulting in economic vulnerability and environmental damage, with the global shift to sustainable practices and economic diversification.
In order to solve this continuing practice, it is critical to address the issues created by petroleum dependency as well as the environmental implications of oil extraction and solid minerals mining across the nation. As a result, PESMDAA was established with the goal, using advocacy tools to foster a sustainable future for Nigeria by balancing economic development through petroleum and solid minerals with environmental stewardship.
PESMDAA has footprints across the Federation with the engagement of locals as task force officers.
